Hydrasun leads the way through the provision and integration of hydrogen equipment services for a hydrogen refuelling station and associated infrastructure.
The Aberdeen Hydrogen Hub will be a scalable green hydrogenproduction, storage and distribution facility in Aberdeen powered by renewableenergy. It is being delivered by bp Aberdeen Hydrogen Energy Ltd, a jointventure between bp and Aberdeen City Council.
D2Zero company Hydrasun has been selected to deliver thetechnical package which involves the design and integrate the refuellingstation and its associated infrastructure, to supply green hydrogen to localoff-takers.
Hydrasun is at the forefront of the hydrogen sector, collaborating with key players in transport, manufacturing, and energy toaccelerate innovation and technology adoption. To deliver the technicalpackage, Hydrasun announced a project milestone in March 2025, awarding threecontracts for major equipment packages for the project: a compression package,a storage package, and a 2.5MW electrolyser. These packages play a vital rolein ensuring the efficient production, storage and distribution of hydrogen fromthe facility.
The scalable green hydrogen production, storage anddistribution facility which will be powered by electricity generated at a solarfarm is expected to be completed in 2027, with production of green hydrogenstarting in 2026. Once operational, the hub is expected to produce around 300tonnes of green hydrogen which is enough to fuel 25 buses a day.
